How do I reset the security alarm system on a 1992 Nissan Maxima?

The regular car key will not work when I turn it in the door. I bought this as a used car a few months ago and it did not come with a security key. I disconnected the horn so the siren doesn’t go off but now my car won’t start because it thinks I’m an intruder. Please help! I have to work tomorow! Thanks!

if its an aftermarket alarm there is usually a small switch somewhere (usaually on the underside of the dash on the drivers side) and when you set off the alarm you can put the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position and flip that switch and it will disengage the alarm… hope this helps…

Use the trunk or drivers door lock turn and hold it toward unlock for 2 seconds to turn off the alarm system. Arm the same way turn and hold to unlock 2 seconds. You should be able to see what the security light is doing. Last resort (two People) disconnect the negative post off of the battery #1 person turn and hold the ignition key to the crank position. #2 person then drop the negative terminal on (some spark) then the motor will crank and start before the alarm knows what is happening. Good Luck
